I’m taking on ACRF’s Brave Shave this World Cancer Research Day to raise vital funds for research into all cancers.
Shaving my head has been on my bucket list for years. Like most things that have made it into the list, it’s on there because it scares me. Our hair is such an integral part of our identity, and to radically change it is quite confronting. Fortunately for me, I’m doing this by choice. But for so many others diagnosed with cancer, they are doing this out of circumstances.
2 in 5 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
The remaining 3 will be closely affected by a diagnosis.
It's a deadly problem that needs disruptive solutions, starting with pioneering programs and revolutionary research. Because we know only brilliant ideas can tackle something as big as cancer.
