Emily Somers

Emily is a strong and inspirational woman who has felt the full impact of cancer after being diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma on her 27th birthday, which later returned, and was then followed a second diagnosis of a rare cancer, sarcoma in 2019. Despite all this, Emily has come out the other side with a beautiful son, Sidney, and a business full of heart aptly named, Bravery Co.

Inspired by her own experience of chemo, cancer, naps, and turbans, Emily established Bravery Co. Her mission is to create beautiful designer silk headwear for individuals impacted by cancer, to give bravery to those going through something she knows only too well.

Alex Fuchs

Alexander Fuchs, a prominent figure in Australian hairdressing and fashion, founded Fuchs Hair in 2018 with his sister and father. For almost two decades, Alexander has supported clients navigating their cancer journeys, helping them manage their hair as it regrows, which often changes in texture and thickness.

On World Cancer Research Day, September 24, Alexander is generously giving ACRF full exclusive assess to his salon in Alexandria, recognised as one of Sydney's best, hosting a morning of brave hair shaves, cuts and colours. Alexander and his team will be on-hand to assist Brave Shave participants with their bold and brave changes.
