On Saturday, 10 October, I’m doing something I never thought I’d do — I’m shaving my hair off for Brave Shave 2026!
And I’m hoping my friends and neighbours at Vantage at Pacific Paradise and all my Facebook friends will get behind me and help me raise more than $3,000 for an incredibly important cause.
Every dollar raised goes towards vital cancer research, helping scientists discover new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat ALL types of cancer — with the ultimate goal of putting an end to this devastating disease.
Cancer has touched my life personally. I have already lost six very close friends to cancer. And living here at Vantage, I’m very aware that cancer has touched our own community too. I know of at least 16 cancer survivors living in our village, while four residents are currently undergoing treatment.
That’s why this cause means so much to me.
So, I’m prepared to sacrifice my hair in the hope that together we can help make a difference to the lives of people affected by cancer — today and in the future.
