Cutting the locks for family and friends

By Russell Dutton

I’m taking the ACRF Hair Dare to support Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) in their mission to achieve a world without cancer.

I am raising vital funds to support the 2 in 5 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. With your help, we can transform the way we prevent, diagnose and treat ALL types of cancer and put an end to this devastating disease.

Thank you for your generous donation. Supporting ACRF means giving Australia’s best cancer research to the people who need it most. That could be someone you know – someone you care about – your family, your friends, your community, perhaps even you.

Much Love!

Noone fights this fight alone!

My Updates

Family means everything!

Over Easter, I am reminded just how precious our time together with family really is. The laughter, sharing meals, our family traditions—it’s those simple moments that stay with us.
Cancer can put a real downer on the mood during many of those moments.

That’s what this is all about for me. On May 4th, I’ll be cutting my hair to raise funds for life-saving cancer research. This is for the families still fighting and the families affected by the whole process.
This fundraiser is my way of honouring those who have lost loved ones and protecting the moments we so often take for granted.

If you can, please donate or share.

Your support helps keep more families together for more Easter lunches, more birthdays and more hugs.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Much love

Why I'm Cutting My Hair for Cancer

On May 4th, I'm taking a big step—I'm cutting off my hair. It's part of the Australian Cancer Research Foundation's Hair Dare. This isn’t just about the haircut. It’s about the people I love. We watch strong, beautiful people we care about fight with everything they have. Some are still in the middle of their battle, the pain of watching someone you love go through cancer is something that never leaves you.

2 in 5 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. That statistic is terrifying—and it’s why I want to help. I'm raising funds for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) to support world-class research and innovative treatments. Every donation goes toward giving people a fighting chance, helping families stay together longer, and moving us closer to a cure.

Thanks to the incredible support of friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, I’ve already raised $356! I’m so grateful for every single donation that has brought us this far. It means the world to me to see others standing with me in this cause. But we’re not done yet—every dollar still makes a huge difference.

Cutting my hair is symbolic. It’s a small sacrifice compared to what cancer patients endure, but it’s one way I can show support, raise awareness, and hopefully inspire others to do the same.

Please consider donating or sharing my fundraiser. Together, we can change lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.
