SERENITY ISLAND TUPPER WORLD TEAM

By Jo-Anne Scott

I’m taking the ACRF Hair Dare to support Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) in their mission to achieve a world without cancer.

I am raising vital funds to support the 2 in 5 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85. With your help, we can transform the way we prevent, diagnose and treat ALL types of cancer and put an end to this devastating disease.

Thank you for your generous donation. Supporting ACRF means giving Australia’s best cancer research to the people who need it most. That could be someone you know – someone you care about – your family, your friends, your community, perhaps even you.

My Updates

WHY I DECIDED TO DO THIS

Hi, my name is Jo and I was diagnosed with Cancer on the 8th of January 2018. My diagnosis was Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma Grade 4, and I was told it had already spread to my central nervous system (CNS). To fight this aggressive form of cancer, I underwent multiple courses of chemotherapy as well radiation therapy treatments followed by five stem cell transplants.

Despite all efforts made so far; surprisingly there still seems some unknown factors contributing towards prolonging life expectancy because according medical records from an oncology team overseeing treatment plan at that time indicated clearly no chance survival beyond year 2018 due mainly unstoppable growth abnormal cells till date while having gone through several cycles both chemo-radiation without complete remission yet!

Additionally recent PET scan results done recently showed up few areas doctors described 'abnormal' within bones specifically which led them believe could be potential signs metastasis taking place again making gliomas type brain tumors tend not migrate towards skeletal structure but biopsy confirmed otherwise originating astrocytoma grade III another primary cancer lurking around since beginning affecting same organ aiming achieve different goals unfortunately.

But I am still here FIGHTING this DEADLY DISEASE some are not so lucky. PLEASE DONATE TO HELP THE ONES WHO ARE NOT FIGHTING ANYMORE & THE ONES THAT ARE STILL HERE & ENDURING THERE BATTLE.

Hi My Name is Jo I myself was diagnosed with Cancer on the 8th January 2018.

The Cancer that was diagnosed was Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma Grade 4 I was informed that it had already spread to my CNS

I have had multiple Chemo Courses & Radiation Therapy and I have had 5 Stem Cell Transplants.

My oncology team have no idea why I am still here because I should have died in 2018. Then to top that off my PET Scan that was done on the 17th August 2022 showed a abnormality in my bones.

My team was so perplexed by the discovery so back in to hospital for a biopsy. Gliomas don't normally metastasized to the bones.

But the biopsy showed it was Metastic but it Metastasized from Astrocytoma which also started in my Brain.

My 2 Primary Cancers are Grade 4 Anaplastic Oligodendroglioma & Stage 3 Astrocytoma

I won't let Cancer beat me and that is why I am doing this.

Not sure I can walk the distance but I am going to try.

As for Shaving my Hair I have lost my hair many times with the Chemo
